Arthur came to Buffalo in 1983 as a student at UB. After finishing College in 1987 he started Executive Cleaners knowing nothing about the dry cleaning business.
He opened his first store in 1987 and then added a second and a third store in 1989. From 1989 through 1993 he added another two stores, a wife, five children and two home pickup and delivery routes.
Business was booming all the way through 2004. At that time Arthur hadn’t taken a vacation since day one. His wife insisted that the family take an extended vacation out west for a few weeks. After getting home from the vacation he sold off a few of the stores and only kept three so that he could live a balanced personal and business life.
To this day he preaches to his children to live a balanced life. He always says that he’s not only financially successful, he’s successful in his family relationships, which have much more meaning. No one on their death bed says I wish I would have spent more time at the office.
Wanting to ensure that his family would stay close he has tried to help all of his children establish themselves here in Buffalo.
To this day his five sons all live close by as well as his twelve grandchildren.
